Frederic Traylor

Welcome to my webpage! I am a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. I primarily research public opinion on climate change and climate change solutions, focusing on how solutions become seen as acceptable. I especially focus on how acceptance is shaped by relationships with social institutions, like religion, government, and science.

I also study the interplay of religion and environmental attitudes, the perceived moral hazard of technological solutions to climate change, and how parenthood influences, and is influenced by, environmental and climate attitudes. I am also a survey methodologist and engage in research investigating survey sampling and mode effects, including the propensity to cheat using AI large language models.
